A member asked:

What's the difference between sugars and carbohydrates when carbs just turn into sugar. ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

WeAllNeedALitleSugar: Carbo:carbon, Hydrate:water(hydrogen and oxygen)--boring but important. All kinds out there, from digestible to indigestible. In the end the body needs to break them down into glucose, which is then run through our metabolic mill to eventually give us energy to live. A sugar is just a very simple carbohydrate(e.g. glucose). Real complex ones are starches(like in a potato),then broken down to glucose
