No: there is no medication, OTC or prescription, which will prevent or eliminates intra-abdominal adhesions. The only cure for them would be more surgery, if they cause obstruction of the bowels or other organs. Good luck.

No: Abdominal massage and the like is helpful for some patients with irritable bowel syndrome. This may provide temporary symptomatic relief for adhesions, but surgery remains the mainstay of treatment.

Surgery: Surgery remains the anchor treatment for adhesions. Adhesions typically recur after surgery, so careful evaluation is needed.

No sympt? do nothing: See your doc. If you have no symptoms, e.g. Recurring pain, or blockages, then no need to do anything. Got symptoms? Individualized evaluation and treatment. Sometimes surgery is done for obstruction due to adhesions. The surgery cuts (lyses) the problem adhesions, but the surgery causes new adhesions which may or may not become a problem in the future..

Trial and error: There are no magical answers to this. I don't see consistent patterns with my patients with adhesions. Without further specifics, i would look at your bodies responses to foods and eat accordingly.

Scar tissue: Abdominal adhesions represent scar tissue attaching between different abdominal organs. This can be triggered by any process of inflammation or surgery. Treatment is usually observation or surgery.
