Yes: Adhesions are simply intraabdominal scars and any type of surgery which enters the abdominal cavity can cause adhesions. Some laparoscopic repairs use a pre-peritoneal approach but most enter the abdomen. You can find out what approach your surgeon used by getting a copy of your operative report.
