Had elevated d dimer at 800 something negative for blood clot why would it be so elevated still having chest discomfort hurts sometimes deep breath ?

Symptoms: Good to know that this is not pulmonary embolism. Your elevated D- dimer is probably the result of an inflammatory state not otherwise specified. A good history and physical exam should help in further delineating a source for your symptoms.
