Need pediatrician: Without knowing more details, it is difficult to speculate as to what is going on. The best person to help sort this out is going to be your son's pediatrician. Be prepared to provide a detailed diet history as well as behavioral concerns.

Mgt and PCP: Toddlers will often eat small amounts frequently, rather than larger meals. It is important to offer healthy snacks, sources of protein and fresh fruits/vegetables. Cutting foods into interesting shapes and making smoothies with yogurt can help to add calories to his diet. His growth curve is kept by his pediatrician and can be discussed. I would recommend checking his temperature and a PCP visit
