No: If you are flossing properly, flossing will not cause gingival recession. Show your hygienist how you floss to determine if you are doing it properly.

Unrelated: Proper flossing will help prevent recession, not cause it. If you have recession see your Dentist or his/her Oral Hygienist to review technique and to evaluate for gum disease. If gum disease is present referral to Periodontist may be in order.

Flossing: Flossing does not cause gum recession. Keeping food and bacteria out if that interproximal space actually helps your gingival health. There are other factors at work. Do you see your dentist at least twice a year for an exam and professional cleaning?
