Endometriosis: Pain during the period may be a sign of endometriosis especially if the period is very painful. Although endometriosis is not a life-threatening condition it can cause severe pelvic pain. But there are other reasons for increased pain during the period including infections and fibroids. I would go see a gynecologist in person to find out if there is anything that needs to be treated.

Pelvic pain: Pelvic pain is complex as there are several organs in the pelvis. The ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, bladder, appendix, intestines, colon and rectum can all be the source. Pelvic pain requires and examination to help organize the evaluation. Lower right sided pain is concerning for appendicitis.
