A member asked:

Under follicular study my egg released on 16th march. and i have menstural cramping from 18th.what would be the reason? am i getting periods soon?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

What is "soon"?: If "soon" is 2-3 days, then no. If soon is 10-12 days, then yes. A period usually comes about 14 days after ovulation (ovulation is when the egg is released from the mature follicle on an ovary). If one is trying to get pregnant, just watch for that missed period 2-3 weeks after ovulation. If periods are often irregular, one can check a home pregnancy test 3 weeks after having sex.
