Remember: The stomach is a hollow but muscular organ. It may not contain "skeletal" muscle like in your arms and legs, but does contain "smooth" muscle, which isn't really under your conscious control but rather your body's natural machinery, that creates contractions that allow for appropriate mixing of food and digestive enzymes/acid.
