A doctor has provided 1 answer

Definition: The social model of health attempts to address the broader influences on health outside of disease and injury. The focus is on social, cultural, economical, environmental, etc, factors. Examples would be healthcare policy, public education, health promotion in communities. Essentially: before we can even start looking at specific diseases, inequities and detriments need to be addressed.
