A member asked:

How does motivation affect our mental and emotional health?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Motivation: It depends on what the person is motivated to do, and the context under which the behavior occurs. For example, the motivation to jump up and down and yell during a noisy basketball game could be considered normal. However, if this behavior takes place in a library, quite likely it would be considered abnormal and not emotionally healthy.
