Hi! i'm positive ana homogenous pattern and positive rnp. diagnosed w mctd. had many symptoms over last 12 days. eye lids swell and fingers toes hives. eye pain. just feel horrible inside. what else can it be?

Talk to rheuma: This is something which needs be discussed with your rheumatologist who has examined you and knows more about your history. Diagnosis of a disease cannot be based on lab test findings alone. I urge you to do it ASAP.

Eye pain and MCTD: The eye pain can be related to mixed connective tissue disease and can be an emergent situation threatening vision (uveitis?). Hives are somewhat atypical, unless caused by immune complex related vasculitis (sorry for jargon) and may be a sign of exacerbated MCTD. Recommend calling the on-call rheumatology service or heading to the ER.
