Low lumbar stenosis: can be caused by many things, such as disc extrusion (herniation) and spondylolysis (chronic fracture of the posterior bony elements). Disc extrusions can get better or worse, depending on circumstances. Spondylolisthesis typically progresses to a certain point and then stops, but by that point you will have nerve pinching symptoms.
