A member asked:

I have permanent extremely inflamed inferior turbinates (due an operation), does this explain why my snoring has gotten so very much worse?

Not necessarily.: Snoring is caused by partial obstruction of your airway combined with vibration of airway soft tissues. Nasal congestion, enlarged tonsils and excess soft tissue in the back of the throat can all contribute to snoring. Lying on your back can aggravate the problem. I see that your nasal inflammation is being treated. But you should address these other possibilities with your physician.

Yes: If you snore...blocking your nasal breathing will increase the snore. Speak with your ENT surgeon (who probably was involved in your surgery) about this problem!!!!!! Hope this helps! Dr Z
