YES, maybe: Picking and popping pimples can lead to a serious infection, though usually it doesn't. If your immune system is healthy it can usually contain the infection. However, sometimes a serious infection called cellulitis can start with an infected pimple. If you introduce a particularly strong bacteria by picking at an already inflammed area you risk making things worse. Just don't do it!
