Toothpaste on cut (pimple) cause infection?

Pimple: Tooth paste is not a sterile compound. It is less sanitary each time you rub it along your tooth brush to apply paste. I am wondering why tooth paste was chosen to apply to a cut/pimple. Mouth wash, peroxide, triple ointment, etc. would be better choices.

Can cause rash/burn: Toothpaste is not formulated to be used outside of your mouth. Use a product designed for pimples. So many posts on this site asking for help after applying toothpaste on a pimple.
