Skin injury: The answer is in stages. the first stage is stop bleeding. It has some protection then, Dont worry about catching something from your own blood. The cells close the wound.by regrowth. It slowly closes over a couple of days. If it is clean, they grow faster. Withing 3-4 days it is closed. The wound heals side to side so the narrower it is the faster it heals.
