I stopped taking proair hfa without telling the doctor when she prescribed qvar 80 mcg did i do wrong or should i keep on taking it.

ProAir is "rescue": Sounds alright. The ProAir is albuterol (like Ventolin and Proventil), and is fast acting, so is used as one's "rescue" inhaler. If one is needing ProAir often, she is given something like Qvar, which will decrease the inflammation in her lungs so that she can wean back down her ProAir. That means a benefit of Qvar is being able to use less and less ProAir, saving it for "rescue" needs.
