Autoimmune hives: About 40% of chronic hives are from chronic autoimmune urticaria. Many of these patients have auto-antibodies including anti-thyroid antibodies. A good test to follow up on chronic autoimmune hives is High affinity IgE receptor antibody test. An allergist can provide direction. Thyroid disorders should be addressed by an endocinologist.
