Just ok: I wouldn't consider any deli meat a healthy option because of the processes needed for preservation. Usually, nitrates are used, which are transformed into nitrites and increase risk of upper GI cancer. Carmelized sugar is an alternative to sodium nitrate, but also carries with it all the adverse health effects associated with any refined sugar. Cooking fresh meat is healthier.
