Depends on organism: Pneumonia has many different organisms as causes such as many kinds of bacteria and viruses. Vaccination usually is protective for limited organisms such as Hemophilus influenza. If patient was feeling better after antibiotic therapy then likelihood of being contagious is less.

Relax: Bacterial pneumonia is treated with antibiotics. If the label is correct, that one is not easily passed from kid to kid.The vaccines were a great idea, but likely of little importance here. Some pneumonia's start with a cold, which is contagious, but only for the cold. When a kid with a cold develops pneumonia it comes from common airway germs that we all carry.
