Never said it: All SSRI's have the potential to increase anxiety or be "stimulating", but sertraline is not high on that list. It is more likely with fluoxetine (prozac) and a little bit with paroxetine (paxil). Bupropion, which is not an SSRI, is probably the one most likely to at least transiently increase anxiety, while treating depression, but some experts think this risk is overblown.
