Unknown: Truthfully, a mucocele is not a life or death situation. It would probably be best for you to see an oral surgeon and let the ER physicians treat those that need urgent care.

In rare cases: a mucocele (pocket of expanding mucus in the sinus) can expand to a point that bone is eroded. This takes time and is not emergent usually. Recommend setting up an urgent ENT appointment.

No, see a dentist: Usually they're not a problem and will go away on their own. It can be a common result of a constant trauma. If concerned see a dentist for evaluation and treatment as needed.

Better option: First what you believe to be a mucocele may or may not in fact be that as most mucoceles are small and do not cause pain. I recommend that you see your General Dentist or an Oral Surgeon for a quicker, simpler resolution to your problem. ER is appropriate for emergency medical treatment. Unless you have a high fever, severe swelling or trouble swallowing or breathing see a dentist asap!
