Yesterday morning i had a mucocele in my lower right lip removed. my lip is swollen from stitches and it's hard to eat; when will swelling go down?

Post Op Swelling: It could be up to 2 or 3 more days. Take liquid motrin or Tylenol (acetaminophen) if you have it. You are going to have to go to soft diet, Carnation Breakfast shakes or just straight ice cream(Yes I said it, it cooling and delicious) Try a cool rag or ice pack 5-10 mins of each hour to control the swelling. I hope you feel better soon!

Day or two: Probably a day or two. You can probably decrease the swelling with application of ice. Perhaps some ibuprofen.

About: About 48-72 hours after the surgery. Cold compresses for the first 24-36 hours, then warm compresses. Ibuproferin or aspirin will help bring down swelling, Tylenol will not. You'll see noticeable improvement when stitches removed.
