Mainly structure : in a valve which doesn't open completely, the leaflets may be restricted due to fibrous adhesions or calcification. Valvuloplasty, a ballon is put into the opening, and expanded to "crack" the adhesions and allow more opening of the valve. It can be complicated by valve injury (leading to a leaking valve or regurgitate flow. Also particles could break off causing problems downstream
