A member asked:

Cymbalta (duloxetine) has a half life around 12 hr. does that mean you should take it twice a day, once morning and once night?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

SUSTAINED RELEASE: Cymbalta, (duloxetine) chemical name Duloxetine, is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressant. It affects the uptake and function of the chemical signals between nerve cells. It is also used for chronic pain conditions where it affects nerve cells in the body and brain similarly to how it works in the brain for depression. It is usually dosed once a day. It is in a delayed release capsule.
