A member asked:

My 7yr old girl has sudden involuntary movements of upper body that lasts for 2sec once every 2or 3 days for 3 months. is it of any concern?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tic or seizure: Sudden involuntary movements in children is suggestive of a tic or seizure disorder. Rarely, a condition called PANDAs is responsible for this. If these events are truly involuntary, it's time for evaluation. At some point, she is likely to become distressed by them as other children begin to take note of it.
