Give your doc a call: Misoprostol does make it a little easier to insert an IUD but diarrhea and cramping are possible side effects. I've inserted many IUDs without prepping with Misoprostol and the difference between those that take it and those who don't is small. I don't know your specific case. Your doc deserves a call if you are considering going against his/her advice. Best wishes!
