Yes, similarly: "Pinched" feeling in mid-sternum likely represents Pectoralis major tendinitis at insertion of Pectoralis muscle on the sternum. Physical activities involving pushing or pulling could initiate. Use heating pad and rest. See your primary doctor if the symptoms persist.

If the pain is replicated by palpation or muscle stress, then tendon pain is suspect. Prudence requires that a cardiovascular evaluation be undertaken to rule out disorders in that sphere.
