Common side effect: Glucocorticoid shots are generally well tolerated. The formulation of the glucocorticoid is a crystalline suspension. The crystals can cause transient mild flare of synovitis. Flares that last longer than a few days should be followed up with the administering physician to ensure no other etiology.

Could be normal: there is a thing called a flare. This is when the steroid injection causes inflammation. give it some time
