Different procedures: In sleeve resection most of the stomach will be removed leaving a sleeve or tube of stomach No anastomosis is required in sleeve resection . In Roux-en-Y type of gastric by pass , small pouch of stomach is created then G I continuity is established by passing small bowel , this looks like letter Y described originally by a french surgeon Roux
