Both or either.: Look at the label. Example: Nutramigen® with Enflora™ LGG®* ("friendly" gut's bacterias, such as Lactobacterias (LGG) or Bifidobacterias, - they are - probiotics). Prebiotics are dietary fibers, or carbohydrates, or oligosaccharides, - the food needed for the normal gut flora (or microbiome) to grow (Example: Prebiotics in Enfagrow®).

Both are available in baby formula and promote gut health. If your baby has a milk or other allergies, a risk for allergic problems, eczema, a hypoallergenic formula may be discussed with your Pediatrician and recommended. I agree that the product labels provide detailed information and each company has more information on their website.
