Tooth Abcess: No, you need to be seen by a dentist ASAP and be put on antibiotics. The ibuprofen may help your pain, but will not reduce the bacterial infection. A tooth abcess can lead to a life-threatening situation if left untreated.

Your choice: You could miss a day's work, see a Dentist, and have your infection treated, or go to work, risk the infection spreading, risk serious health damage as the infection spreads, and risk missing multiple days of work.
