Need diagnosis: Face swelling can be caused by sinus infection, infection in the skin of the face (erysipelas), dental abscess and localized reaction to a bug bite. Sometimes there is a lag in response to antibiotics and swelling and redness increases somewhat while the antibiotic starts to work, but if there is no improvement in 24-36 hours from starting Amoxicillin, you need to be seen again.
