A member asked:

25, f. how often should you get a pap smear? is it the same length of time if you don't have periods? (pcos)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pap Smears: Pap smear guidelines were updated in 2012 by the American Cancer Society and recommend that women between the age of 21 and 65 have Paps once every 3 years. It may be extended to every 5 years if HPV testing is combined with the Pap. The screening interval does not change with a diagnosis of PCOS since there is no increased risk of cervical cancer in those patients.
