A member asked:

I am a long distance runner. i had an early stress fracture a month ago and have switched to biking. the pain is gone now. is it safe to start running?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Usually, for most types of soft tissue wounds, heing is 90% complete by 6-8 weeks. For bony injuries, it's longer, on the order of 8-12 weeks. It depends on the location and severity if the stress fracture. Best to ask the doctor that made the diagnosis, or an orthopedic surgeon. Hope this helps!
