Depends on the cause: If your tearing is from a blocked tear duct, then the duct needs to be opened. If the tearing is from dry eyes (and you are tearing too much to compensate for it) then you need artificial tear drops to soothe your eyes. This will stop the tearing.

Understand cause: Excess tearing is usually due to some degree of obstruction in the outflow into the nose. This can be evaluated by your ophthalmologist to determine the cause of the blockage. I assume that your eye is not inflamed as a source of excess tears. There are good treatments available for blockage.
