For a year now my doctor has been trying to lower prednisone but every time i get lower than 10 mg i get a lupus flare, what do you recommend ?

Aternate day dosing!: Tapering steroids used for awhile always causes symptoms the may make you believe you are flaring> the first order to taper is to go to 12.5/7/7 every other day. Then 12.5/5.0 god. This way your suppressed adrenal gland kicks in better. I keep people on each other day reduction 2 wks. Even if you do not come off, i believe you can achieve a lower cumulative dose!
