Hernia: If it seems to get harder or "more visible and prominent" when you are lying flat, and lift your head it is probably a hernia. If it is there all the time, I would have a surgeon check it out.....and do this urgently if it is very tender, as it could be an incarcerated hernia, or an abscess. Can also be simple like a lipoma...but lets ruleout the bad things first
