A member asked:

Some doctors say hpv can't be detected by blood test & it's impossible when others yes with antibodies! pathology doctors too! whom should i believe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Antibodies=exposure: HPV lives primarily in the epithelial cells that line the skin and some body cavities. Our immune system reacts by making antibodies which if strong enough may limit or prevent future infections as is expected with young women who have been vaccinated. Currently the best way to test for the virus is to examine material from the infected tissue . There is no blood test.
