Depends on the cause: Sounds like you've been taking the antibiotic a few days. Continuing symptoms probably means you have a virus, and no virus responds to any antibiotic. Talk to the doc who prescribed it about whether to continue and if you might still be contagious. Also ask about mononucleosis (glandular fever), which might still be contagious by kissing, and is quite common especially if you're under 25 yr old.
