TMJ: Certainly a soft diet will help to ease the pain in your TMJ. Talk to your parents about your problem .You should see a dentist to determine the extent of your problem, the amount of damage to your joint and muscles, and the optimal long term treatment.

Sometimes: Self treat with soft diet, jaw exercises, massage, heat/cold, OTC pain meds. A splint or physical therapy would be next. Occasionally muscle relaxants, biofeedback. Xrays are done for diagnosis. Surgery usually reserved for serious symptoms not responsive to other treatments.
