Is a blighted ovum something that occurs naturally or can someone do something early on in the pregnancy that causes that to happen (like taking xanax (alprazolam) before realizing i was pregnant)?

Not your fault: this can just happen. most likely the fertilized egg had genetic defect and so would not have grown well anyway. so this is your body's natural defense against having a baby with a birth defect. unlikely to be related to xanax (alprazolam).
