Cyst or lymph node: It sounds like a cyst or small lymph node. If you have had any upper respiratory infection or dental infection it may be a lymph node that tried to fight off the infection. In either case if it is not resolving in the next month or so see your doctor.

Likely a lymph node: There are MANY possibilities, but this sounds like a lymph node. These can swell with a cold dermal injury, acne, or a myriad of insults to your immune system in that area. If it stays for more than a few weeks and it's growing and/or tender it's a good idea to have your physician take a look-- most of the time the cause is minor, but these can also be an early warning sign for something serious.

See your doctor ASAP: Any lump on your jawline under the skin, regardless the size, that lasts longer than 2-3 weeks should be checked by your doctor.
