What is the best test to diagnose pre diabetic? is it a1c test, or the 2 hours blood sugar test?

Fasting plasma: glucose. The best way would be to test fasting, after at least 8 hour fast, plasma glucose. If the results are borderline, it may be worth repeating. See this site for more info. http://www.webmd.com/diabetes/guide/what-is-prediabetes-or-borderline-diabetes
