Fibroids are benign.: Fibroids are benign growths within the muscular layer of the uterus. They're not dangerous, although if they get large enough they can sometimes make it difficult to become pregnant. And they can sometimes be a source of bleeding that occurs in between periods and, as such, they may need to be managed or removed. There are non-surgical options for treatment.
