Safe: Yes surgery is safe, but that doesn't mean the risk is zero. And that low risk is for a group of people, not an individual. While the odds of a complication are very low, it is unpredictable for an individual. Ask your surgeons about the anticipated postop course, and what complications they have seen. If they say they've never had complications, find another surgeon. One that's honest.
