Panic attack: Last I heard baseball is a game played for fun and there are lots of positions at which one can enjoy playing. Being a catcher requires a certain skill set and mentality. If your son wants to overcome the fear of being hobby he ball or bat, it will take time, patience and courage. They don't sell that in stores. If his heart is set on being a catcher only then get a good teacher or coach !!

Needs to see doctor: Panic attacks are a serious problem. He should see a doctor if they are occurring frequently. If they only happen when he plays catcher then he may want to consider playing another position.
