Tonsils: Its not "lateral" its lingual tonsils and depending on your age, may be normal. We have tonsils or lymphatic tissue at the base of our tongue which is the vallecula, where the epiglottis and tongue meet. The question is why did you have a CT scan?This is why inappropriate tests leads to unnecessary anxiety. Also, you should have never been given the result of test by anyone but the ordering doctor
