Likely viral: The bloodshot eyes you describe may be conjunctivitis/pink eye. The term describes the part of the eye affected and how the eye looks but NOT the cause. It can be infectious, allergic, autoimmune or irritant. Most of the time in a child it is infectious and the majority of the time it is viral, especially with both eyes affected and other symptoms that sound viral. Symptomatic treatment only.
